Description

Traveled half way across the country from Wisconsin to California so I could follow my dreams of becoming an actress. I'm documenting my adventures along with the struggles of the true Hollywood story of a no name girl trying to break into the filmmaking industry. I'm not going to sugar coat anything or lie about my experiences to make the journey sound better then what honestly is going on. I will be revealing the true reality, the success if any, and the heartache of what happens when trying to reach this one in a million dream. So come on this roller coaster with me and my dog Gizmo to see for yourself what it takes to make it, what it doesn't, or maybe you'll realize this dream could in fact be for you.

Gizmo's Commercial for PHYSI-PET

Gizmo has done it again! Another commercial he starred in is below for a new doggie toy by PHYSI-PET (past commercial). Gizmo is sporting his green hoodie and is looking handsome as ever! We both have been working hard on our web series, the trailer and website will go live in November (past blog on web series). YAY... I am still trying to come up with a catchy title; this has been one of the hardest parts of the project, THE TITLE. I just want the series name to be perfect and really fit what Gizmo and I will be portraying for the show! If anyone has any cool ideas please share them!

Gizmo's Commercial for LA Inc.

Gizmo received a DVD of a commercial promo he did for LA Inc. Not only am I trying to make it in the acting industry but so is Gizmo! When I first moved out here to LA Gizmo was booking acting projects left and right, helping to pay for the bills; however, he hasn’t been getting many auditions the past few months but that may change because he does have an audition this Thursday! Fingers crossed, or shall I write paws crossed! In my upcoming online series the episodes will explain more about Gizmo’s commercial and his audition this week (previous blog on series). We’re excited to premiere the online series and hope people will enjoy the show. There is some great footage already shot and we can’t wait to launch the website!

First Attempt at a Vlog!

Okay, contemplating in my thoughts, I’ve decided I am no longer going to sit around waiting by the phone to hope in a million years it will ring and tell me I just booked a TV show or a hit movie…it’s just not going to happen, so I need to pull my self out of denial and make my own show! Yes, that is right I said show! On my Blog, I have been documenting the adventures and struggles out here in LA, as of last week’s post I talked about filming the adventures to show you all (past blog), and then filming got me thinking…why not just make my own reality show!
I have experience in reality:
-Had a MTV show for two seasons
-Worked on MTV ‘The Hills’
-Did casting for reality shows:
·       Tough Love Couples (VH1)
·       Dating in the Dark (ABC)
·       Minute to Win it (NBC)
·       The Singing Bee (CMT)
·       Baggage (GSN)
The only down fault to this new idea, is I won’t have a crew it will just be the camera and me. So the production value won’t be too high to start off with, but I got to start with something. I will be using a very nice high definition camera, the Canon t3i/600D.

I am thinking the show will be more docureality, a documentary and reality based show. I will be putting up the episodes on my YouTube page and if I get some viewers that are interested in the show I will then make a website! I am not a hundred percent sure of the outline of the show yet besides the base of having Gizmo, the entertainment lifestyle, and me so this first episode is a test run. Let me know what you thought was intriguing, what I should tape more of, and if I shouldn’t talk so much into the camera. Maybe show more of LA? Maybe some of the hot spots, or cool tour places? Any advice would be highly appreciated! If there is anything you would like to know about California or have any questions please comment or send me a message and I can discuss a Q & A on the episodes!

I also will be working on my Blogs Navigation buttons on the top of the page. I worked on the video page if you want to check out what has been done to it please click here

New Blogging Approach and Monologue

Trying to figure out ways to get noticed in Hollywood has been beyond a tough cookie to figure out. Crap using the tough cookie metaphor just made me hungry for cookies. When I was at the grocery store there was a new food item, a frozen pizza with cookie dough to make 12 cookies. I couldn’t believe it, such a genius idea! I wish I would have thought of it, and I really wanted to buy this outstanding creation but Gizmo and I could not eat a whole pizza and 12 cookies to our selves so we moved on… I wrote and created a new monologue that I wanted to share. I am not sure how many more monologues or audition style pieces I am going to tape and put up on my blog (about previous taping auditions). I don’t really think the videos are working on getting me noticed in the industry or even very interesting for you all to watch. So instead, I came up with a new taping idea. I am not sure if this new creation will be any better, but I figured it was worth a shot and if it doesn’t work I will move on and try something else. Since I have been blogging about the adventures out here in LA, I was trying to come up with ways to make my writings more interesting. I started reading books on learning how to write better and grammar novels to help with my poor habit of not knowing how to spell, but I still don’t think all of that help will make the blogs more interesting. I just believe my blog posts needs something more:
·       Eye catching
·       Entertaining
·       Corky
·       Visual
With those four elements I will need to show you what I am doing instead of just writing out what is going on out here in LA. Yes I will be bring my video camera with me where ever I go and just start tapping what is going on. I am going to start Vlogging  (video blogging).
I taped one today of mine and Gizmo’s personal anecdote, but I won’t be putting it online this evening because I need to edit the footage first. Please do let me know what you think of this idea and even what you think of the video once I release it online. Who knows, this idea may backfire and not be at all entertaining, but it’s worth a try to find out!

Monologue "Being Me"
This is a monologue I wrote about a character who is afraid to just show her real self; therefore instead of being who she really is she becomes someone else for the night.

Is the Entertainment Industry Really For Me?

Been contemplating the past month if the entertainment is really for me. Living in LA for about two years now I’m starting to feel a strain, a strain that I couldn’t quite explain until now. Feeling there was something missing I finally realized what that was this last week and a half…been missing a fun worthwhile social life.

I moved out to LA by myself with no family or close friends living out in this big city of chaos. Trying to inch your way into the industry there is a balance that will start to lurk away when entering the true starving actor lifestyle. You will not be able to work on the craft and also have lots of fun like the teenage years when you didn’t have much responsibility. Since there are thousands of people every month (heck maybe even week) moving out to California to follow their dreams, sacrificing is in order to give up going out, because you have to work a hundred times harder in this line of work to become known in Hollywood. With that note, ever-aching minute counts and you can’t waste any time or you will be stepping backwards. With knowing this dedication, I knew I would be able to do it, but saying something and doing it is two different things.  I have been doing it except this past month where a toll hit me and I started to explore in my mind the idea if LA is the right place for me.
The contemplation started to pour in:
·       Long hours of working in acting when you don’t get paid
·       Auditioning and not hearing back at times even when you were really good
·       Putting in money for headshots, classes, and workshops when getting no money in return
·       Expensive rat race of trying to get an agent.
When trying to become an actor you can’t have a normal nine to five job because you wouldn’t be able to make auditions or go to acting classes, so it’s hard to be able to make a living following the beginning of a nonpaying dream that millions of others are going after. Millions of people don’t intimidate me, because if you want something bad enough and you sacrifice giving up your time with putting in years of work, it can happen! But this past month, all this knowing information, just made me not sure if I wanted to keep fighting for this dream and live out in a big city all alone. But the last week and a half opened my eyes and I realized once again why I am doing this and what will come in the long run, maybe not now, but years down the road.  I was just missing a little excitement and great company to realize I am not alone in this world and that in the long run if I have true friends they will be by my side within the years to come.
I went out and explored some amusement even though I can’t afford to or do this very often. I just really needed a few days to get a small balance to remember I am still human! The fun started with going out to the beach to relax feeling like we were the only ones there, saw a wonderful stand up comedy show, went to the movie theater (instead of ordering a Netflix movie, like my normal routine), checked out The Grove, and all those things allowed me to feel like I could breathe for a moment without worrying what I was going to do the next day for my acting dream. I honestly didn’t want the fun to stop, but I am glad I got drifted into perspective when my last fun day ended in Hollywood…the club scene.
The club scene, where do I even begin, I am glad I went because it showed me what I use to be in the teenage years and what I don't want to be doing anymore or in the future. Partying late at night, getting wasted and strangers hitting on you is no longer a part of my life. I just needed to remind myself of that so I could get beyond this hurtle of thinking the industry isn’t for me. I am not missing anything in the going out world in Hollywood right now and I need to just keep pushing forward and realize I still have eight more years to carry out until I start to see real progress in the acting industry. I just need to stay positive, surround myself with genuine friends and really know who I am to keep myself moving forward. There are a lot of people in this town that you can hang out with, but I am a little picky and need friends who get themselves and me. When you find people who get you, you don’t want to let them go because it is hard to find people who will take their time to truly get to know you, even half of my own family doesn’t even get me or matter of fact know me.

With all this new information that has floated into my life, I can't wait to share what my next steps are to exploring my dream in my new blogs coming this week!

Gizmo the talking Chihuahua

Gizmo is super cute and I always get stopped by strangers when I take him out into public so I've decided I am going to upload small clips of Gizmo doing his cute whacky unnormal dog things.

Not only can Gizmo speak for Chocolate, he also doesn't get sick from the delicious treat! Yes I know we have all heard Chocolate is bad for dogs, but Gizmo has been eating chocolate since he was a baby and we all know Gizmo really isn't a dog...he's pretty much human!

Gizmo has a beautiful chihuahua girlfriend named Lua!
He is telling her how he feels! How cute!
