I QUIT writing on my BLOG!

My web series is starting to come along; however, it is much more work then I thought it would have ever entailed, but that won’t stop Gizmo and I. The trailer and website will be launching this month, I still need to figure out the title though! To be honesty it's very tricky to find the perfect name!

I am sad to say I won’t be posting many more writings on my blog, I think I have finally called it quits! Yes I said it, I am quitting... I have to quit one thing if I want to create something new. With that said, I am going to be posting Vlogs which is video blogging where i am talking to the camera instead of writing. Yes I am going to try to become a YouTube Vlogger along with uploading my episodes for the web series! I will be posting an episode once a week and a minimum of 2 vlogs a week! I’ve already designed the background to my YouTube channel with Gizmo and I along with the Hollywood theme of the web series. So check it out and SUBSCRIBE so then you can get my videos emailed to you and then please let me know what you think!!!

Monster Energy Drink Commercial

Took part in a spec commercial for Monster energy drink and was cast as a young mom once again (past young mom commercial TLC). I was a little sick when I filmed this but you couldn’t even tell because in show business you need to suck it up and perform as if you felt like a million dollars! Take a look at the commercial and let me know what you think! Please don't blink because if you do, you may miss me, commercials are fast!

Gizmo's Commercial for PHYSI-PET

Gizmo has done it again! Another commercial he starred in is below for a new doggie toy by PHYSI-PET (past commercial). Gizmo is sporting his green hoodie and is looking handsome as ever! We both have been working hard on our web series, the trailer and website will go live in November (past blog on web series). YAY... I am still trying to come up with a catchy title; this has been one of the hardest parts of the project, THE TITLE. I just want the series name to be perfect and really fit what Gizmo and I will be portraying for the show! If anyone has any cool ideas please share them!

Gizmo's Commercial for LA Inc.

Gizmo received a DVD of a commercial promo he did for LA Inc. Not only am I trying to make it in the acting industry but so is Gizmo! When I first moved out here to LA Gizmo was booking acting projects left and right, helping to pay for the bills; however, he hasn’t been getting many auditions the past few months but that may change because he does have an audition this Thursday! Fingers crossed, or shall I write paws crossed! In my upcoming online series the episodes will explain more about Gizmo’s commercial and his audition this week (previous blog on series). We’re excited to premiere the online series and hope people will enjoy the show. There is some great footage already shot and we can’t wait to launch the website!

First Attempt at a Vlog!

Okay, contemplating in my thoughts, I’ve decided I am no longer going to sit around waiting by the phone to hope in a million years it will ring and tell me I just booked a TV show or a hit movie…it’s just not going to happen, so I need to pull my self out of denial and make my own show! Yes, that is right I said show! On my Blog, I have been documenting the adventures and struggles out here in LA, as of last week’s post I talked about filming the adventures to show you all (past blog), and then filming got me thinking…why not just make my own reality show!
I have experience in reality:
-Had a MTV show for two seasons
-Worked on MTV ‘The Hills’
-Did casting for reality shows:
·       Tough Love Couples (VH1)
·       Dating in the Dark (ABC)
·       Minute to Win it (NBC)
·       The Singing Bee (CMT)
·       Baggage (GSN)
The only down fault to this new idea, is I won’t have a crew it will just be the camera and me. So the production value won’t be too high to start off with, but I got to start with something. I will be using a very nice high definition camera, the Canon t3i/600D.

I am thinking the show will be more docureality, a documentary and reality based show. I will be putting up the episodes on my YouTube page and if I get some viewers that are interested in the show I will then make a website! I am not a hundred percent sure of the outline of the show yet besides the base of having Gizmo, the entertainment lifestyle, and me so this first episode is a test run. Let me know what you thought was intriguing, what I should tape more of, and if I shouldn’t talk so much into the camera. Maybe show more of LA? Maybe some of the hot spots, or cool tour places? Any advice would be highly appreciated! If there is anything you would like to know about California or have any questions please comment or send me a message and I can discuss a Q & A on the episodes!

I also will be working on my Blogs Navigation buttons on the top of the page. I worked on the video page if you want to check out what has been done to it please click here

New Blogging Approach and Monologue

Trying to figure out ways to get noticed in Hollywood has been beyond a tough cookie to figure out. Crap using the tough cookie metaphor just made me hungry for cookies. When I was at the grocery store there was a new food item, a frozen pizza with cookie dough to make 12 cookies. I couldn’t believe it, such a genius idea! I wish I would have thought of it, and I really wanted to buy this outstanding creation but Gizmo and I could not eat a whole pizza and 12 cookies to our selves so we moved on… I wrote and created a new monologue that I wanted to share. I am not sure how many more monologues or audition style pieces I am going to tape and put up on my blog (about previous taping auditions). I don’t really think the videos are working on getting me noticed in the industry or even very interesting for you all to watch. So instead, I came up with a new taping idea. I am not sure if this new creation will be any better, but I figured it was worth a shot and if it doesn’t work I will move on and try something else. Since I have been blogging about the adventures out here in LA, I was trying to come up with ways to make my writings more interesting. I started reading books on learning how to write better and grammar novels to help with my poor habit of not knowing how to spell, but I still don’t think all of that help will make the blogs more interesting. I just believe my blog posts needs something more:
·       Eye catching
·       Entertaining
·       Corky
·       Visual
With those four elements I will need to show you what I am doing instead of just writing out what is going on out here in LA. Yes I will be bring my video camera with me where ever I go and just start tapping what is going on. I am going to start Vlogging  (video blogging).
I taped one today of mine and Gizmo’s personal anecdote, but I won’t be putting it online this evening because I need to edit the footage first. Please do let me know what you think of this idea and even what you think of the video once I release it online. Who knows, this idea may backfire and not be at all entertaining, but it’s worth a try to find out!

Monologue "Being Me"
This is a monologue I wrote about a character who is afraid to just show her real self; therefore instead of being who she really is she becomes someone else for the night.

Is the Entertainment Industry Really For Me?

Been contemplating the past month if the entertainment is really for me. Living in LA for about two years now I’m starting to feel a strain, a strain that I couldn’t quite explain until now. Feeling there was something missing I finally realized what that was this last week and a half…been missing a fun worthwhile social life.

I moved out to LA by myself with no family or close friends living out in this big city of chaos. Trying to inch your way into the industry there is a balance that will start to lurk away when entering the true starving actor lifestyle. You will not be able to work on the craft and also have lots of fun like the teenage years when you didn’t have much responsibility. Since there are thousands of people every month (heck maybe even week) moving out to California to follow their dreams, sacrificing is in order to give up going out, because you have to work a hundred times harder in this line of work to become known in Hollywood. With that note, ever-aching minute counts and you can’t waste any time or you will be stepping backwards. With knowing this dedication, I knew I would be able to do it, but saying something and doing it is two different things.  I have been doing it except this past month where a toll hit me and I started to explore in my mind the idea if LA is the right place for me.
The contemplation started to pour in:
·       Long hours of working in acting when you don’t get paid
·       Auditioning and not hearing back at times even when you were really good
·       Putting in money for headshots, classes, and workshops when getting no money in return
·       Expensive rat race of trying to get an agent.
When trying to become an actor you can’t have a normal nine to five job because you wouldn’t be able to make auditions or go to acting classes, so it’s hard to be able to make a living following the beginning of a nonpaying dream that millions of others are going after. Millions of people don’t intimidate me, because if you want something bad enough and you sacrifice giving up your time with putting in years of work, it can happen! But this past month, all this knowing information, just made me not sure if I wanted to keep fighting for this dream and live out in a big city all alone. But the last week and a half opened my eyes and I realized once again why I am doing this and what will come in the long run, maybe not now, but years down the road.  I was just missing a little excitement and great company to realize I am not alone in this world and that in the long run if I have true friends they will be by my side within the years to come.
I went out and explored some amusement even though I can’t afford to or do this very often. I just really needed a few days to get a small balance to remember I am still human! The fun started with going out to the beach to relax feeling like we were the only ones there, saw a wonderful stand up comedy show, went to the movie theater (instead of ordering a Netflix movie, like my normal routine), checked out The Grove, and all those things allowed me to feel like I could breathe for a moment without worrying what I was going to do the next day for my acting dream. I honestly didn’t want the fun to stop, but I am glad I got drifted into perspective when my last fun day ended in Hollywood…the club scene.
The club scene, where do I even begin, I am glad I went because it showed me what I use to be in the teenage years and what I don't want to be doing anymore or in the future. Partying late at night, getting wasted and strangers hitting on you is no longer a part of my life. I just needed to remind myself of that so I could get beyond this hurtle of thinking the industry isn’t for me. I am not missing anything in the going out world in Hollywood right now and I need to just keep pushing forward and realize I still have eight more years to carry out until I start to see real progress in the acting industry. I just need to stay positive, surround myself with genuine friends and really know who I am to keep myself moving forward. There are a lot of people in this town that you can hang out with, but I am a little picky and need friends who get themselves and me. When you find people who get you, you don’t want to let them go because it is hard to find people who will take their time to truly get to know you, even half of my own family doesn’t even get me or matter of fact know me.

With all this new information that has floated into my life, I can't wait to share what my next steps are to exploring my dream in my new blogs coming this week!

Gizmo the talking Chihuahua

Gizmo is super cute and I always get stopped by strangers when I take him out into public so I've decided I am going to upload small clips of Gizmo doing his cute whacky unnormal dog things.

Not only can Gizmo speak for Chocolate, he also doesn't get sick from the delicious treat! Yes I know we have all heard Chocolate is bad for dogs, but Gizmo has been eating chocolate since he was a baby and we all know Gizmo really isn't a dog...he's pretty much human!

Gizmo has a beautiful chihuahua girlfriend named Lua!
He is telling her how he feels! How cute!

Outdoor Mall & Book Tour

Got up early to head over to the Americana in Glendale, which is a beautiful out door mall. Once arriving, I was in awe of the stores, restaurants, and the grass. The grass was such a breathtaking sight, reminded me of home (WI/MN) for just a split second, until I realized there are no outdoor malls there! We (Gizmo) wanted to go to the Barnes and Noble to buy the new book EntreLeadership and have the book signed by the author Dave Ramsey himself (previous post about Dave’s other book called The Total Money Makeover). Upon approaching the bookstore early, I noticed a young man outside with Dave’s new book; therefore, rallied up excitement for me to march over to ask if Dave was there yet. Wasn’t expecting any disappointment for the morning; however, it blew into my view when finding out Dave canceled his book signing at the Barnes & Noble.  Just my luck, the first book signing I decide to go to the author couldn’t attend. I understand things happen, so I wasn’t mad about the whole ordeal, and plus they did give me the book for free which then made my day! And on another positive note at the Americana I saw this amazing looking outdoor sushi restaurant that I think I might need to try out this week during their happy hour lunch special!

Claimed As a Bad Owner!

Gizmo helped me with some errands today while giving kisses to every person that happened to walk by when I was pushing him in the cart. After our errands I needed to grab a few things at a grocery store so I stopped at Trader Joe's in Burbank. With only a couple food items needed, my trip in the store would be less then ten minutes, which resulted in my decision not to bring Gizmo into the store to start a hassle with the employees. Being speedy I came back to find two people surrounding my car as if there was a bomb that needed to be defused. The man bolted off into the store as if he was going to call a S.W.A.T. team and I asked the lady what she was doing around my car. Instantly, I was called out that I was a bad person leaving a dog in a car for so long. I disagreed with her mentioning I was not in the store for an extended amount of time. She rejected me immediately to analyze that management told her they were out five to six times checking on the dog (wow five to six times within ten minutes, doesn’t the manager have a store to run). She then went into the fact I did not have my window down, trying to stay calm and collective, I tried to bring her to my driver door to show her it was cracked, but she didn’t want to be proven wrong, which entitled her to snap back without even looking at the window saying, “that’s it.” With the temptation of flying of the handle and wanting to say, “You want me to roll my whole window down, then walk into the store, come back to see that my DOG has been stolen.” Instead I resisted and asked her to, “Please come to my door so I can show you my dog is fine.” Tears started building up in my eyes, I guess in the heat of the moment I thought social services was going to come and take Gizmo away with the horrible judgment she had against me. The lady took notice of my emotional facial expression and slowly came to my door to touch Gizmo realizing he is fine and wasn’t in the car for long.  She became much nicer to me and realized that management over exaggerated about the time being left in the car and she was on her way. Shockingly being called a bad owner has not happened to me before, I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I think Gizmo has a great life and is treated more as a child then a dog (at times I wish I was him).  He has his own clothes bin, favorite human treats, and gets his own seat on airplanes. I rarely leave Gizmo in the car because he goes everywhere with me since he fits in my purse. I just didn’t want to bother Trader Joe's in Burbank with bringing in my Dog with his legal papers so he could be in the store, boy was I wrong, I will always bring Gizmo into a grocery store even if I am going in for a minute!

It’s funny how some people already think they know who you are before even investing their time to communicate and really find out they are actually wrong with their own petty judgments. I am not angry or got bitter when I was talking to her (because I knew that I am great to Gizmo), but this incident really opened my eyes to notice a lot of people believe they know something about a complete stranger without even talking to them. For example, many people when they first meet me see a young, na├»ve, petite blonde, who doesn’t know much about life; therefore, it is always appalling to them when I prove their evaluations are inadequate.
One great thing about learning to write screenplays is that I really need to know my characters inside out to see what makes them tick and who they really are. These characters I create are like real people in the world, we all have things that happen in our lives that make us do the things we do. So before you judge someone, you might want to figure out who they really are first, because surprisingly you are probably very wrong about them. It takes years and years of peoples pasts to make them who they are today, so a few weeks or months does not give anyone enough credibility to make a judgment on a person.

Hope everyone is having a great and blessed day!

Learning How to Play Guitar

Ouch my little fingertips are in a great deal of pain, even while I type this post, they are not pleased with me.  The guitar strings have taken a beaten to my fingers and it is hard to play more then 20 minutes at a time. After today’s lesson, I learned some new chords to practice throughout this coming week to result in being taught how to strum during my next session! By no means am I trying to become the next big rock star or musical hit. I am just adding another talent that might help with me getting seen in the acting industry! And plus I think the guitar is a cool instrument that I have always wanted to be able to play!

Gizmo and I went for our morning bike ride and it was a little nippy out. I guess getting up at 8 in the morning on a Sunday has a chain reaction of the sun not being out, since most of LA is still sleeping. It was nice being one of the only individuals out and about. Feeling bad for Gizmo who was shivering in his bike basket entailed me to pull over at a doggie shop to get him a shirt. We bargained with the store and got the sweater for three dollars and some change! I was pretty impressed since Gizmo’s clothes usually can cost more then people clothes. But he did need something to keep him warm for the remainder of our bike ride.

Today has been ten years since the tragic 9/11 attacks that affected millions. My prayers and deepest concerns go out to everyone and this day will always be remembered.

I came across an outstanding quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.
“Small minds discuss people, Average minds discuss events, and Great minds discuss ideas.”
This quote stands out to me because I agree with the statement 100 percent. I love talking about ideas with people and coming up with marvelous creative new adventures; however, a lot of society would rather gawk and talk about people. In my opinion I would rather worry more about what I want to do and accomplish in life then need to know what someone else is up to.  Being more concerned about other people would proceed in a consequence of wasting time that will affect the ability to get anything done for oneself.

Coming Along With Guest House

I think I have gone way too far this time with Gizmo! I got him real hair extensions! I just couldn’t abstain from the beautiful golden puppy locks...
No, no, no, I can't believe you actually would think that I have the mindset to go that far. These extensions are for a role Gizmo will be playing. He kind of looks like a cool, hipster, surfer type though! Just to through that comment out there!

My new living is starting to come together and feeling more like a home. I can't believe how long it took me to organize my new place. All the other times I have moved, which has been four times within two years, it only took me a day or two to put everything away. It has been over 10 days and I am still not done. This is the first time having a one bedroom, so I figured it would be easier; however, I was mistakenly wrong. Being use to tiny studios and then encountering an extra room, I honestly didn't know what to do with it.  This extra bedroom threw me out of my commonplace routine; therefore, consequently got me to purchase my first bed frame for my mattress. Plus I needed to create some storage and what better space to be used then under your bed. The new frame is a great addition for the bedroom, even though it did take me a little over three and half hours to put together by myself. But when I have something I want done, I go for it until I get it accomplished!  When I first moved to California I always kept my mattress on the ground because I had no clue if I was going to stay out here or move back to the Midwest. I have finally decided California will be my new place for a few years.

Gizmo and I finally got to go for our daily typical bike ride today. It has been two days since we could use the bike considering we had a little hustle with a thorn patch that resulted in two flat tires. Bringing in the bike to repair our misfortune we are up and running back to our normal everyday addiction.

Getting Healthier and Learning about Finances!

Lost five pounds...and i feel great!  By no means was i over weight or anything, but in the industry i want to be in (acting), you really need to stay in shape and look your best. However, i am actually doing this for me! I am eating healthier, working out (with Gizmo), and trying to cut back a little on the chocolate (no way will i not ever eat chocolate). With this new outlook on my body and life i started reading the book "The Total Money Makeover" By Dave Ramsey. The book is about transforming your financial life and how to get out of debt while living a debt free successful life. I know, I know there's so many get rich fast books out there but this book is not that. It takes time, knowledge, and will power to get there. Just like losing weight, it takes time, dedication, motivation, and you can't do it without the proper steps. One of many things that stuck out to me while reading the book is how Ramsey talks about schools/colleges. Schools teach you how to earn money but upon graduation schools don't educate their students on what to do when the money comes. We as humans are taught from other people on what we know from math to riding a bicycle. So if we aren't taught how to handle our money we become ignorant (with the lack of knowledge) and that's where credit cards come into play and so many Americans fall into debt. The old tale of getting a credit card to establish credit is not the best way to go about it. Ramsey suggests paying things in cash. Paying in cash can get you deals, but it also shows you what you are spending instead of throwing up your plastic and forgetting the amount you had just spent on your card. This makes complete sense! I use my debit card and if i don't record the amount right away in my check register this can result in bad news and go into an overdraft! I do have one credit card because Gizmo had a little accident and had to get surgery awhile back. I love him too much so i needed to get a credit card to go forward with him getting better. I am under half of the initial purchase amount and within a few more months i will have the whole thing paid off. Following after, i will cut up the card and hopefully not have to go down that road again :)

Not only does the book go into great detail about how to get out of debt, it includes how to save money for the future with investments so you can live a stressless successful life!

I am only half way into the book and it's such an affective read i had to share it with all of you! There is an abundance of outstanding information in the book; therefore, if what i wrote above appeals to you, i think you might want to pick up the book from the library and give it a read!

New Living and New School

Well, it has been awhile since i have blogged and i think it is about time i get back to it. So once again i have moved into another place in California. I got evicted, and no i didn't FORGET to pay my rent, the building is actually being torn down. I moved 3 miles away from my old apartment and now i'm living in a guest house with a back yard for Gizmo! Not only does Gizmo get grass to run around in and another dog to play with, but the guest house is a one bedroom! My first one bedroom and i couldn't be more pleased! I have always lived in studios out here in CA because that is all i can afford, but with the act of good faith i fell upon a lucky deal that is somewhat unrealistic for LA! Even though i was sad and upset when the eviction letter came to my door, i now realized it was meant to be. When things go wrong there is a reason and eventually something great will come out of it, we just have to be patient that in the long run it will work out! Which can be hard to do at times in our stressful world, but if we all stay positive we will live better lives!

Today, i started another college and this time i am studying screenwriting! Since i love the entertainment industry and it's the only thing i want my career to be in, i figured if i want to be known in this field i need to start creating my own films. I do audition from time to time, but i want more (don't we all), and the only way i feel to get noticed in this town is if i can show all of my talents and desires. I have always loved to write since i was a kid. But was scared to show people anything because in school i was terrified from the red pen on my papers from all of my teachers. Even writing on my blog startles me a bit. However, the only way to overcome our fears is to do them, fail, do them again, possibly fail another try, but in time finally succeed! I just tell myself if things were suppose to be easy everyone would be doing it, and if i do succeed at a goal i always want to try something harder to then accomplish that goal!

I will be writing more on my blog now and if anyone has any questions or something they would like me to blog about please feel free to leave some comments!

Someone's happy to have a new friend!

Got everything out of the old apartment, we were exhausted!

Got everything into new guest house, not looking forward to putting it all away...

Created Another Short "Not Alone!"

Once again another short scene was filmed. This one took me a little longer to edit then the past shorts because my external hard drive crashed on me. I pretty much had to start over with what i had cut together for the short but thank goodness i did not delete the raw footage from the camera so i could reload it to a new external hard drive. I guess technology can only get us so far!   :)

This short is much more dramatic and a sad story compared to the last video which was more light towards the comedic avenue (Watch The Frisbee). But i needed something dramatic and different for my acting reel so I play a girl who is all out of tears that is shocked, dazed, and confused about her boyfriends actions. She also is unsure about herself and can't figure out what she had done wrong for him to get so anger at her all of the time. Actress Katie Ryan plays my roommate and best friend that is hurt to find out what was really happening in my relationship, when in fact, the whole time she thought it was going swell.

"The Ring" - Short Film

Another short film has been created that I would like to share! This short scene is called "The Ring." It's about two sisters and their grandmother's wedding ring. I play the sister who sells the ring to get my no good boyfriend out of jail and Katie Ryan plays the sister who is not happy with me one bit. This scene is more on the dramatic edge where the two sisters through one another under the bus with stating the other persons faults and insecurities.

Acting Monolgue That I Wrote!

So today I taped a monologue that I had wrote. Since EPISODIC SEASON is coming in August I wanted to have something to send casting directors and agents; however, I wanted to be a little different this time and not tape someone else's written piece, so i decided to come up with my own words!

Episodic season is one of the biggest filming and castings seasons for the entertainment industry (the other biggest one is pilot season). The good thing with episodic season is that most likely a new actor will be called in to audition and be able to book jobs compared to pilot season. Episodic season starts in August and goes till November. Pilot season starts after the new year. During pilot season if you are a new actor it is very hard to find an agent or representation during that time. However, episodic season likes to look at new talent! Which is great for me since it will be starting very soon. So with that news, i created my own little scene and taped it. Hopefully i will be able to show this to the right people so i can start getting some great television and film auditions in the fall!

"Best Years"
This monologue is about a girl who explains the best time of her life which was in college. She goes into detail about all of the great times she had until college was over, then realizing she shouldn't have listened to society in making college be the best years of her life!

Please let me know of any critiques or comments! Would be highly appreciated!

Commercial I was in Aired on TLC!

The commercial promo that i filmed a few weeks back aired last week on TLC (Past Blog on Commercial). The promo was for the show called "Surprise Homecoming" that will be airing on TLC. The show is about the months of separation and sacrifice families have had due to their loved ones going over seas for military services. The families find out that their loved ones will be coming home. Billy Ray Cyrus hosts the show. Here is the link to watch the promo. I'm in the beginning wearing a white dress and I play a young mom. I have a cute baby in my hands and a young son next to me.

Another Film "The Contract!"

Last week I got together with a friend of mine and we decided to create another short film! We are tired of waiting around for the phone to ring to let us know we have an audition, so instead of allowing other peoples power to control our destiny we have realized we should just create our own video projects! I think we are getting better at our shorts each time we finish one. Yes! There are still more things we need to improve on but that is where learning will come in and no one is born with knowing how to create outstanding films right off the bat! It's a working process.......

This film is called "The Contract" Katie Ryan plays the neighbor and wrote the short. I play the girl with a dog who comes over to the neighbors house because i am frantic something bad will happen to me which then means my dog Dazzle will be all alone. I want my neighbor to be the god mother of Dazzle, but I don't just stop there. I have a contract of pages of what she has to do for Dazzle!

THE CONTRACT:

This video was filmed by us and i was the editor. Just the two of us girls and my dog GIZMO!
