Traveled half way across the country from Wisconsin to California so I could follow my dreams of becoming an actress. I'm documenting my adventures along with the struggles of the true Hollywood story of a no name girl trying to break into the filmmaking industry. I'm not going to sugar coat anything or lie about my experiences to make the journey sound better then what honestly is going on. I will be revealing the true reality, the success if any, and the heartache of what happens when trying to reach this one in a million dream. So come on this roller coaster with me and my dog Gizmo to see for yourself what it takes to make it, what it doesn't, or maybe you'll realize this dream could in fact be for you.
After filming a short film I directed/wrote called "Fake Pocket Dial" my brother watched the video and said that it reminded him of a Super Bowl commercial. The next day, I saw an ad for Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest on Facebook and figured it was a sign that I must create Fake Pocket Dial into a commercial! Now, this was my first attempt at directing and writing a commercial and even if I don't make it into the top five finalist, I still had an amazing time creating the clip! I was blessed to work with amazing actors that brought the characters to life! I was really happy and couldn't be more pleased on how it turned out! Plus, each project I do, I keep learning more and more to put forth on my next projects to make them even better then the last! I am hoping some of the films I create will be on TV someday real soon for people to enjoy as much as I really enjoy creating them!

When the going gets rough with attracting the ladies, an average guy creates the perfect plan with the fake pocket dial and starts getting good looking girls left and right. Will his luck run out or will he become the next god to mankind?
Wow, my
100th blog post! I started up my Blog in December of 2010, which had
explained what I did before the dream of acting occurred. I use to model, do
promotions, and lived in the great Midwest of North Saint Paul, Minnesota. I
grew up in a small hick town that I will always love, in Wisconsin and now I'm
in Hollywood, California. Yup still pursing that dream of acting that I had
talked about years ago, LOL!
If I would have known then what and where I
would be now, I would have never believed I would have my own film company (Why Wait Productions) making my own shorts and web series. Within the years of
moving out to the big city, I've been hurt, let down, dreams torn in front of
my eyes, agents telling me I don’t have it, and believing maybe I'm not made
for this town. Throughout all those emotions I have made it to my 100th blog
post and for some odd freakish emotion, with not even a penny to my name, I
feel like things are okay and going in the right direction. I may not be able
to afford rent in the near feature let along my groceries, but I feel like
something much bigger, much brighter, is going to happen that will make me
start living my life and seeing what life really has to offer! It has been a long
rocky road trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, but every time
I try to steer away from the entertainment industry, and get a real job, it just keeps pulling me
back. I have so many stories I have always wanted to tell through creating films and
now throughout the three years of living in California, I have realized my fear
of making my stories a reality is no longer holding me back. I am ready to hit
the ground running and just doing what I want to do and stop dreaming about it.
Yes, maybe the stories I want to create or tell might not be a majority hit to
most viewers, but if I can have a few people really enjoy my films, that is all
I ask for!
The last few dollars I own or will get through gigs here and there, is
going to go into my production company and I am going to create videos left and
right. I'll release the videos on my YouTube Channel and put them on my Why Wait Productions website (which I designed myself).
Hey, this is something I've
always wanted to do when I was a kid, so now it's time to stop sitting back and
talking about it. It's that time to finally say WHY WAIT, just do it before
it's too late!

Why Wait Productions submitted a new shorter trailer to the Robert Rodriguez and AMD VISIONary Young Director's Contest! This contest calls for trailers anywhere between 30 to 90 seconds long. There will be five finalist and the one who wins gets to meet Robert Rodriguez and some computer equipment. I do love winning technology stuff, but to be honest, I just want to win to meet Robert. He is by far one of my favorite directors of all time. He is the type of person who didn't stop his desire of creating films to listen to people who said he didn't have enough money, enough crew members, or the saying most people like to tell others "You can't do that." He is not a talker which is very hard to find because I feel this beautiful sunny city of Los Angeles has way more talkers then doers in this one in a million industry. Don't get me wrong, I love to dream, but after I dream I like to make it a reality, not keep closing my eyes! For over a year now, I've wanted to produce my own film company but was boggled down by people telling me it wasn't possible. I was told I don't have the funds, connections, studios to back me up, or a great name for the company to make the production a reality. I listened to these negative sally's for way too long, until I comprehended that Robert Rodriguez created his first film and he only had $7,000 to make it. If you follow the movie business you know that $7,000 is not nearly a fair amount for a feature film. I feel just because you don't have the resources and huge amounts of money like the top dogs do, doesn't mean you shouldn't attempt to showcase what you can accomplish with the things you do have. Yes, maybe the picture quailty or sound won't be as great as the studio films but if you can tell a great story while showing the world you are having fun and that you're happy, I pretty much think that is all that matters! In conclusion, I realized I was tired of waiting around for people to hand me an acting job, so I figured it was time to create my own projects, which in fact became the name of my film company "Why Wait Productions!"
Puppies And Tiaras Trailer for Robert Rodriguez Director's Contest
It's officially summer 2012 and it's that time of year for bikinis and shorts, in that case, that means I need to start cutting back on the sugar. Wait hold up, that ain't going to happen, I love my chocolate, soda, and baby back ribs. So I guess that means it's time to get a work out routine going! Gizmo and I are going to be hiking every morning at Runyon Canon which is a fun mountain trail in Hollywood. With this exercise routine I can also get my tan on since it's outdoors, win win situation! We started our work out today, or I should say I did and every time Gizmo saw shade he planted down in all fours.
Next time I will bring my backpack and he can dangle out of it, I guess he is the true "talent", such a little DIVA he can be!
Maybe after a few weeks of going hiking I can finally get the confidence to finally say hello to Dane Cook; however, he does tend to look at me in a strange way each time I run into him, but I can't help it that Gizmo steals the spotlight on the trail! After the gratification hike, I finished updateing my actress website. I still need to add some videos and edit my new reel but I figured I would at least share what I've done so far with the new site! http://www.JahnnaRandall.com

Wow, I can't believe it has been just about five months since my last blog post. I am ashamed and will make sure to keep up with the posts! Since this long time lapse, I am excited to share I have created a film company called Why Wait Productions! Hollywood is one tough cookie to crack to get your foot in the door and I'm tired of waiting around to hopefully be seen by Steven Spielberg, Tina Fey, or JJ Abrams by accidentally bumping into them at a coffee shop. However, I realized within the three years I've been out here, I don't even drink coffee so this marvelous plan of running into these talented people just isn't going to happen, so I figured the internet is the next best step! With YouTube becoming more successful every day and building careers for creative people like iJustine, Jenna Marbles, Freddiew, and many others it was time to stop being a talker and finally take the leap and show the world what I, and of course Gizmo, are capable of achieving! It can be hard and scary to put yourself out there over the internet (and no I don't mean porn) because of the negative people who like to tear you down but I've realized in these past months I can hide in my shoebox of an apartment and try to be what people would like me to be or I could show the world my true weirdness and actually find real friends that are as equally weird! With the type rambling, I do have a point to all of this, just get up and do what makes you happy even if others don't approve. Those people may secretly be jealous that they can't do it, they just want to see you fail, or they really just don't like you. But who cares about them, when in fact it's about you and your happiness. You should be happy that you tried what you have always wanted to do, and if it doesn't work out you at least won't have that 'what if' feeling. On a positive note, along the way you will run into other people who are trying to be happy and to me those are the people I want to surround mine and Gizmo's life with! So to conclude this blog post, here is my first short film I directed, produced, co-wrote, edited, and acted in. Yes, it might not be the best short film out there, but I gave it my best first attempt and many more tries will follow!

ABOUT THE FILM:
It's
a dog eat dog world out there and it's even more so in the world of the
"prestigious" Arkansas Dog Beauty Pageant where the dog owners are the
real bitches. Coming from all over the country, these unique
personalities will do anything to have their dog win, from pageant
sabotages to having their dogs wear corsages; nothing is safe, scared,
or sane in this battle for the crown. Yet, the real stars of the show
are the pooches, who prance around pampered and pedicured like the divas
that they know they are, and they take their beauty contest very
seriously as they compete in very funny and unpredictable ways.
Communicating privately through their psychic doggie dialogue, two of
the favorite contestants, Gizmo and Lua, the golden Chihuahuas, fall
madly in love risking not only the crown, but their owners' dreams in
this star-crossed romance.
